Summary: After a decade of work, the National Gallery of Art, has finished the biographical Dictionary of the visual arts in Venezuela, a compilation of 1,065 biographies of Venezuelan artists from the colonial period to the present. It is the most comprehensive work to-date. The publishing project includes artists of all media: sculptors, photographers, engravers, designers, lithographers, painters, and mixed media. An encyclopedic investigation that includes revision of sources, documentary and bibliographical aspects, with special attention to the geographic localities, historical moments, stages, periods and aspects relative to the life and work of each artist.
