Summary: This volume focuses on the Academy Awards ceremony and other events connected with it. Each chapter contains an overview of the film year. It gives dates for each annual ceremony, location, host, who presented the major awards that year, as well as who performed the nominated songs. The authors cover the ceremony itself from the entrances, where stars display their gowns and escorts, to the handing out of the awards. They also include acceptance speeches, major gaffes, backstage conflicts, post-show interviews, the Governors' Ball, the post-Oscar parties, reviews of the show, and the final remarks of the winners and losers.
